The Singapore People's Party is the founding member of the Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA).
The Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) is an alliance of political parties, which allows a political party to capitalise on mass movement and resources. It also allows political party leaders to work within a political organisation and be the leader of their own party.

Profile:
Lee Hock Huat, aged 29, received his primary education in Sennett Primary School from 1987 to 1992. He studied in Upper Serangoon Secondary School after completing his PSLE and was among the top 3 students in his school who received the Alumini Award for his N Levels in 1996. He was the top student in his school for Design & Technology & History respectively in the 1997 GCE O levels.
During his poly days at Singapore Polytechinc, he was actively involved in the activities organized by the Business Administration Club. Hock Huat applied for Overseas Industrial Attachment Programme to China and Vietnam and was selected on both occasions. Hock Huat graduated with a Diploma in Business Administration from Singapore Polytechnic in 2001 and went on to pursue his Bachelor degree after completing his National Service in 2003. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration with Distinction from RMIT University in 2005.
Hock Huat first started working in the Airfreight Industry and left in 2006 to travel in China. He started his own business “Ministry of SME Pte Ltd” in 2007 specializing in retail servicescape.
Hock Huat was a town councilor (2006-2008) and is helping out in grassroots activities in Potong Pasir Constituency. In 2006, he contested in his maiden election in Pasir Punggol GRC and secured 31.3% of the valid votes.
Hock Huat was elected as the party 2nd Assistant Secretary-General (2007-2009)
Hock Huat believes that competition is the key ingredient that will improve the society quality of life and standard of living at justifiable costs. Though Hock Huat was not elected, he was satisfy that his participation have caused his competitor to work harder for the people.
Hock Huat, is married and he enjoys reading and traveling.
