Mr. Chiam See Tong, Member of Parliament for Potong Pasir, the leader of SPP, a man whom who has a proven track record of trustworthiness. He has dedicated his life for the cause of the people, first as a school teacher for 12 years, then as an opposition member for 25 years (17 years as a Member of Parliament). Under his leadership, Potong Pasir Town Council has managed to upgrade the estate facilities without support from the government funds.
The question the SPP asks you is that would Singapore be a better place with or without an opposition to check the ruling PAP. The answer is obvious. Singapore would definitely be a better place for the people, if there is a strong opposition to check the government, otherwise the government can go ahead and do whatever it likes, regardless of what the people feel or what the people think.
A good example is the increase of Ministers' salary to the highest in the world. This is because the opposition here is weak, and is unable to stop the Ministers from giving themselves the highest salary in the world. The people must quickly correct this weakness. The people must give the opposition more power.
There is no
reason why the people should not vote in more opposition to balance the
absolute power of the PAP. The SPP calls on the people of Singapore to
awaken, to support the SPP and bring in a new dawn for Singapore!
